Playful Hour Pendant Lamp

The dome shade is hand-painted in an uneven checkerboard, each square a little different from the last, proof that no machine touched this before it reached the ceiling. Hung low over a breakfast nook or a kids' table, it throws warm light down through the open bottom, catching the texture of the handmade surface as it goes.

This is the light for the corner of the house that doesn't take itself too seriously. For cereal bowls and crayons left out. For the hour of the day that's less about getting things done and more about just being in it together.
